UX redesign for Australian mental health web app
Design and development of a mobile app to help users track their health metrics and maintain a healthy lifestyle. The app was designed to be user-friendly, visually appealing, and packed with features to support users in their health and wellness journey.

Background
In this UX redesign case study, I embark on a journey to enhance the digital experience of WeLysn, a platform that empowers users to manage their mental well-being. My goal in this project was to transform the user experience, making it more intuitive, engaging. Main objectives were conversions from landing on the website to then creating an account with Lysn and then booking. More user engagement, conversion will lead to more revenue generation for WeLysn.
Challenge
The mental health industry faces a dual challenge - high costs and long waiting times for clinician appointments. The primary goal was to provide affordable and prompt access to essential mental health care, enabling individuals to connect with professionals and effectively manage their mental health needs.

Solution
We enhanced Welysn by introducing a tiered pricing model for affordable mental health care, improving UX with a user-centric design, and optimizing telehealth access to reduce wait times. The onboarding process was revamped to simplify sign-ups, while the booking system was streamlined for easier appointment scheduling. A customized matchmaking system now connects users with the right professionals based on their preferences and needs.

Process
Research & Analysis: We analyzed competitors like BetterHelp and Talkspace to identify best practices and gaps, while market research provided insights into trends and regulatory factors. User personas, based on interviews and surveys, helped tailor the platform to different audience needs.
User journeys: Users discover Welysn through various channels like search and social media. The onboarding process was simplified for easy sign-ups, followed by personalized assessments and clinician matchmaking to provide tailored care. Telehealth appointments were streamlined for quick and hassle-free scheduling.
Information Architecture: Content was reorganized into clear categories with an intuitive navigation system, ensuring easy access to key resources and services.
Wireframes: Prototypes were developed to visualize the platform’s layout and user flow, aligning design goals with stakeholder expectations.
Brand & visuals: The brand identity, including design guidelines, was provided by the client. My focus was on integrating these elements seamlessly into the website while maintaining consistency and enhancing usability.
Results
The enhancements to Welysn led to a 20% increase in conversion rates, a 40% reduction in wait times, and a 50% success rate in appointment bookings. The improved UX, streamlined onboarding, and optimized telehealth access contributed to a more efficient and user-friendly experience, making mental health care more accessible and effective.
