Background
Synoptic is a cutting-edge community-driven intelligence network, designed to empower the crypto community with tools for competition, monetization, and reputation-building. As an early-stage product designer, I contributed to shaping the product’s foundation, launching its beta version, and driving further enhancements post-launch.
Challenges
At the early stage, the product lacked defined user flows or functional architecture.
The design system had to accommodate future features and ensure consistency as the product evolved.
Post-beta, user feedback revealed areas for improvement in usability and engagement.
Process
Early-stage design: Conducted research-based UX flow creation, ensuring alignment with user needs and business goals and designed core functionality, including spaces for tournaments, data streams, and the paid subscription feature in the future.
Beta launch: Focused on delivering an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) to attract early adopters and investors and collaborated closely with developers to streamline implementation and ensure timely delivery.
Post-beta enhancements: Conducted user interviews to identify friction points and prioritize improvements. Advanced the design system, ensuring scalability and design consistency across new features and designed and implemented enhancements, including personalization options and feature updates based on user feedback.
Design system: Supported the creation and maintenance of the design system by using components in my designs, providing feedback, and collaborating with the team to ensure consistency. Contributed to the system by adding new components and refining existing ones to meet evolving product needs.
Continuous collaboration: I together with design team have conducted user interviews, surveys, and analyzed in-app analytics to understand the pain points and user needs. We also studied competitor apps and industry trends to gather insights.
Results
Synoptic successfully secured funding following the beta launch, demonstrating strong investor confidence. The platform saw a 30% increase in active users, attributed to significant UX improvements that enhanced user engagement. The implementation of a scalable design system ensured consistency across features, supporting future growth and development. As a result of these efforts, user satisfaction increased, leading to improved retention and a more loyal user base.
